I’ve Been Focusing On The Wrong Things
written by Lesa V. Boykin
In my mind I
see, a mystery unfolding
And it’s
happening in me.
The weight has
shifted and my burden lifted
and now my
vision is 20/20 and I see
that I’ve been
focusing on the wrong things.
My birth
father wasn’t around, my birth mother lived in another town
And I felt
rejected.
But I realize
now that God had a plan
when he placed
me in my grandmother’s hands.
She taught me
lessons that God wanted me to learn,
Like virtues
are not always given, sometimes they must be earned.
Strength comes
through struggle
And bravery
through fear
Sometimes to
get to the happiness,
You have to go
through the tears.
Oh yeah, In my
mind I see, a mystery unfolding
And it’s
happening in me.
The weight has
shifted and my burden lifted
and now my
vision is 20/20 and I see
that I’ve been
focusing on the wrong things.
I’ve found a
Father, I’ve never had before,
I’ve found a
love that’s so much more
So peace and
so free and now that I can see, I mean really see
I realize that
I’ve been focusing on the wrong things.
